    DBC is one of the oldest Biological Control Departments not only in Egypt but also in Africa and Middle and Far East. It was established in 1927 but started its activities in late nineteen’s Century. The website reveals introduction to the Department, brief historical view on the activities, staff members (names and specialization) and ongoing projects and activities.
    DBC is consisted of more than 62 staff members, mostly researchers. They are responsible to carry out most of the applied biological control activities in the country. We are ready to cooperate with interested individuals and institutions.

    The International Plant Genetic Resources Institute (IPGRI) is one of the Future Harvest Centres of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research. IPGRI's headquarters are in Rome, Italy, and the institute has staff in another 20 countries worldwide.
