The importance of effluent quality management has been recognized in many countries over the world, particularly in Arabic region. Municipal development along with increasing population have resulted in many environmental pollution problems which require effective solutions.
Recently, there has been a focus on advanced technologies to improve wastewater quality for reusing and environmental sustainability. The conference provides an opportunity for specialists and interested participants from the municipal sectors, academic institution, regulatory bodies and research centers to exchange current information and discuss the increasing issues of wastewater treatment and reuse.

Topics

The conference will address the following subjects.

1. Water resources pollution and protection.
2. Municipal wastewater treatment technologies.
3. Reuse of treated wastewater.

Place and Date

The conference will be held at Tishreen University, Lattakia, Syria
During the period May 12-14,2003

Call for Papers

Paper and posters are invited on any of the topics listed and on related areas. The papers will be selected for their relevance to the conference theme. Interested authors should submit an abstract of their papers of approximately 300-500 words in English.

Language

Accepted papers can be presented in English or Arabic.

Publication

Papers and posters to be presented at the conference will be chosen based on the abstracts. THE Scientific Committee will select contribution for oral and poster presentation. The papers will be included in the conference proceedings and made available at the conference.

Deadlines

Submission of Abstract: January 31,2003.
Notification of acceptance: February 25, 2003-02-02
Submission of full paper: March 30, 2003.
