Abstract
In this research, 17 a-Methyltestosterone were given to 0,018±0,002 g mean weight of larvae guppies with oral administration (0, 15, 30, 60). With this application; the best method and dosage on sex reversal, and also the effect of 17a Methyltestosterone on growth, mortality and pigmentation were investigated. As a result, from the sex reversal point of view, highest value was detected at 60 ppm dosage group with a value of 75,7% sex reversed guppies. Moreover, Chisquare test revealed that all the dosage groups were found statistically different from the control group (P<0,01) The highest values of mean growth, feed conversion coefficient and survival rates were 4,70 ± 0,14g, 1.71 and 3,74±0,11 respectively at 30 mg/kg dosage group.
ANOVA revealed that all dosage groups were statistically significant with different degrees from control group. The highest survival rates were 84,55% at 15 mg/kg dosage group. 17a-Methyltestosterone increased pigmentation on fish and gave better appearance.
