  • Main activities
    Researchs
    1. 1985 - 1988 - Establishment of restriction rDNA map in Helianthus annuus
      - Isolation, cloning and subcloning of the rDNA unit of sunflower in different vectors
      - Identification of the coding and non-coding regions of rDNA using radioactive rRNA/DNA hybridization
      - Establishment of the Phylogeny, based on the rDNA information, of species of the genus Helianthus
    2. 1992 - 1993 - Use of molecular markers in the identification of different varieties of chickpea, through DNA fingerprinting using the digoxygenated oligonucleotide probes.
    3. 1994 - 1996 - Estimation of the genetic distance between and within different genotypes of barley using RFLP and PCR-RAPD protocols.
    4. 1996 - 1998 - Biodiversity study in barley and Cicer genus (chickpeas and wild species). Evaluation of a collection of barley existing at ICARDA and covering the WANA regions. The markers used were PCR-RAPD and STMS.
For Cicer, the identification and the phylogeny of the wild species was realized with the STMS markers, and the evaluation of the genetic diversity within a chickpea collection was estimated by STMS markers.
    5. 1999 - 2004 - Identification and development of DNA markers linked to the Sitonia resistance in Lens. Molecular techniques used are PCR-RAPD and AFLP. Estimation of the biodiversity in the pine in Syria through the molecular markers PCR-RAPD and AFLP.
      - Identification of dehydrin genes in barley. The techniques used are based on the mRNA to prepare cDNA and study those genes in detail.
      - Mapping of STMS marker linked to drought resistance in barley.
    6. 2004 - 2007 - Genotyping of 3000 accessions of barley collections with SSR and EST-SSR. - Allelic imbalance analysis in barley using SNPs.
