Abstract

The present study revealed that the problem in the use of the fungus Metarhizium anisopliae var acridum Isolate IMI 330189 (Green Muscle) for controlling the desert locust S. gregaria is that the locusts continue eating for few days after its application. The integrated action of combining the fungus with insecticides resulted in different percentages of mortality the, insecticide Regent (100%) after 7 days, Karate (100 %) after 9 days, Dursban (100 %) after 10 days and Consult (100 %) after12 days. But the fungus alone was (98.82%) after16 days. All these insecticides were not toxic to the fungus and not inhibited its effect on locust, and there were no differences between spraying the fungus and the insecticides in water or sun flower oil.
