Abstract

Olive oil waste water, in the mean time, is spent to the areas surrounding, the about 1000 , olive mills , spreaded along the Syrian cost to the Medetirarian Sea , and at the Northern parts of Syria beside other districts. These high qualities of highly polluted waste waters are approximately near to 400-500 thousands tons , per year. They are making real difficulties to the underground waters ,used For human drinking , and irrigation purposes. Our laboratory For research on waste water Treatment by physiochemical methods , is Investigating the use of electro - chemical cells to ensure an active oxidation of organic pollutants in olive oil waste water , using different types of Anode , current densities pH - VALUES and so on. We are using COD -parameter to calculate the change in organic material concentrations of the treated waters ,before and after electrochemical oxidation. The aim of this study is to view the possibilities of reusing these waters in the same mills , in a closed circuit , so to eliminate the pollution effect to the environment surrounding these mills.
