Abstract
Hurghada City lies on the east coast of red sea, Egypt. It lies on 27o 17 N latitude and 33o 46 E longitude with 2 - 4 m above sea level. The climate of Hurghada city is considered as a hot humid climate during the summer and warm in winter season. Although in modern society the provision of shelter from the elements is still part of the purpose of building, the emphasis is placed more and more on the need to create an indoor environment that is comfortable, pleasant and healthy to live and work in.
The main purpose of this study is thus outline the relevant design principles as far as the thermal and ventilation design of building in Hurghada region, in terms that will be fully understood by architects, engineers and building scientists.
The results of this investigation show that, shading devices, insulting material and suitable orientation achieve a harmony building with environment.
