Abstract

Industry is considered a basic element for making economical and social development, that is because it can create new job-chances and variety the sources of income and increase the national income. Industry is a dynamic field , which is developed quickly . It is the main field which requires a huge number of primitive elements, and it is the main field which causes a great environmental pollution.
In our country , many industrial establishments stand near inhabited societies which depend on the under grounded water-wells as a main source of drinking and industrial water. Getting rid of wastewater in septic tanks causes soil pollution. In some cases , this pollution reached the water-table.
Throwing away some kinds of industrial wastewater without any kind of primary treatment causes damages to the general sentry net .e.g.; partial close up , corrosion of the pipe's-net. Some pollutions may come with the industrial water to the central biological wastewater treatment plan of the municipal wastewater will decrease the treatment efficiency in these plans. As a mean of protecting the general municipal sewages and the central biological treatment plans, the 2580 Syrian norm is emanated about liquid wastes , which results from economical activities which ends to the municipal sewages.
It becomes necessary to submit many industrial wastewater to pretreatment to achieve the required results. The Syrian experience in treating industrial wastewater is considered humble and modest .During the last 5 years we have studied and achieved many numbers of industrial wastewater treatment units in many industrial institutions;
Patisserie ,detergent, pesticides, fertilizers ,textile and dairy. In this paper , we will show these principles which is depended upon in designing these units, and the technical problems which face the achievement and the investment , and we will show treatment results which we have achieved, where the COD removal increased more than %60 , and the suspended solid removal increased more than %75 .These results will be discussed in the lecture.
