Abstract

Marine pollution are considered one of an important subjects in the present because the interest of all the world to utilizing of marine wealth and the increase of pollution from many resources, which have great effect on zooplankton. zooplankton have important role of marine ecosystem which form the bridge between phytoplankton & big Creatures as fish, also the zooplankton are considered an important bio-indicators for marine pollution. The present research aims a studying water quality in Coastal water of Lattakia & Banyas Cities depending on the physical & chemical feature ( Temperature, pH , Oxygen , BOD5 , Torpidity , transparent , NO3, NO2 , NH4 & PO4 ) and Their effects on the Biodiversity , Abundance & Biomass of Zooplankton .
This work carried out during the years ( 1995 & 1996 ) at Banyas coastal water and during the years ( 2001 & 2002 ) at Lattakia Coastal water , the field work covered 13 stations , 7 of which situate at Lattakia Coastal Water & 6 of which situate at Banyas Coastal Water. The results show important differences of the parameters between the stations & show sharp effects of the Resources Overland ( Domestic & Industrial ) on Marine Ecosystem & studied marine Creatures.
