Abstract
This study handles in analysis, discussion and conclusions the interrelation among tourism, environment and development according to the concept of sustainable tourism and the conditions of its success in Syrian Arab Coast. This study focuses on the following points.
1. The difference between natural tourism and the eco tourism and the role of each within the concept of sustainable development.
2. Constituents and targets of sustainable tourism.
3. Environmental impacts of tourism.
4. The most prominent trends in sustainable tourism planning.
5. Economical efficiency of sustainable tourism in the Syrian Coastal Region.
6. The relation between the sustainable tourism and biodiversity and the extent of this relation's development locally and globally.
7. Procedures of sustainable tourism development in the Syrian Coastal Region in the various concerned domains.
8. Prospective horizons.
