Environmental Assessment for the Treatment of Gases Produced

Abstract
Tobacco industry generate a lot of gases, fumes and particulate in
Surrounding Atmosphere, which cause certain damage to human safety.
The main topics of the research are the following:
- History of tobacco planting and its importance for national economy;
- Processes of tobacco industry for all tobacco types in Latakia factory;
- Measurements, which contained: total suspended solids (TSP), tar materials organic gases ( before and after treatment process ) with cooperation with High Institute of Scientific Research and Technology.
Results were established in tables, analysis and measurements were discussed and evolution of gases control unites.
Results show that, the concentration of dustumd (TSP) was decreased into allowable levels with efficiency about (80-97) % . We noticed that, the concentration of tars after treatment in inlet and outlet of toaster zone-1 and toaster zone-2 was decreased with efficiency about (85) % .
Results indicate to reduction of volatile organic compounds fumes before and after treatment.
