Abstract
The aim of this research is the study of temporal and spatial variation to specific composition of zooplankton (Calanoid : Copepod) , in addition to, study of similarity coefficient between stations , and species stability degree. Many of calanoida species are herbivores , so its form the main cycle between phytoplankton and fishes .
Zooplankton sampling was performed by vertical hauls from six station of Syrian costal water ,four of the station are exist in Lattakia Port and two are about 6 km west of Lattakia Port , and the last one is at estuary of Alkaber-Alshemali river.
39 species were defined belonging to 20 genera and 16 families ; Centropagoidea was comprised 41.025 % , Megacalanoidea 25.6 % , Aritelloidea 23.07 % and Clausocalanoidea 10.25 % from the total species .
Rise of species were appearance in the station far off the overland pollution origins (35-28 species) and reduced in the station near the pollution origins (8-17 Species).
Depression of Similarity coefficient was remarked between the stations near the shore and the other off it, and , in the other hand , raised between the neighbor stations; 3 stabile species were recognized are :
Centropages kroyeri , Acartia grani , Paracalanus crassirostris
