Abstract
This paper reviews some of the results obtained during the last 15 years of scientific work carried out at the Atomic Energy Commission of Syria in the field of marine environment. Studies include evaluation of marine pollution, radioactivity distribution, the impact of phosphate industry on Tartous Port and the use of nuclear techniques for sedimentation rates determination and pollution history. In addition, some results of radiation dose estimation and daily intakes of some radionuclides and trace metals via consumption of sea fish are also presented.
