Abstract

In spite of the multitude of scientifically researches that studied the biodiversity of Crustacea Decapoda, no one was interested to these animals filling the Tunisian costae, what explains the choice of this work.

We have prospected some stations to collect samples and we have dissected their appendages in the laboratory to find their classification. A group of divers have helped us to collect the deep specimens. The species showed are arranged in four groups that have different distribution according the depth. These groups are: Brachyura, Anomura, Macrura and Shrimps.

We've observed another species in the freshwater areas; they are the crab Potamon fluviatilis and the shrimps Atyaephyra desmaresti and Palaemonetes mesogenitor. This last one is endemic of south of Tunisia.

We have also tried to get up keys for species collected that can permit the easier recognition of animals. We have drawn a map of Tunisia where the distribution of the species was made.
