Biological Control of Aphids In Wheat Fields In Syria

Abstract
Laboratory and filed experiments were carried out to control the aphids (Homopetra: Aphididae) feed on wheat Triticum turgidum var. durum, breed (Sham 1) by natural enemies and the bacteria Bacillus subtilis Her. in laboratory and in four un-irrigated fields, not treated by pesticides in north of Syria during (1999–2002). The results showed that there were three parasitoids, several predators, two species of snails and one spider species attack the aphids. Also, the results indicated that treatment with B. subtilis decreased significantly the density of aphids in comparison with the control.
