Abstract

Testis of the pink bollworm, Pectinophora gossypiella (S.) male moth pre-treated as 1st larval instar with Neem Azal formulations showed different grades of histological alternations compared with the untreated control ones. Examination of the longitudinal sections revealed the following histological symptoms:
1. Disintegration of the testicular epithelial septa.
2. Degeneration and indistinguishity of the germ cells during the spermatogenesis process leaving vacuolated areas.
3. Degeneration of the sperm bundles.
4. Shrinkage of the testis content.
5. The peritoneal membrane became more fine.
Neem Azal T/S showed the several histological deformations as compared with the other formulations Neem Azal T and Neem Azal F and the severity of structure damage was found to be dose dependent.
