Abstract

The efficacy of Trichoderma harzianum and Paecilomyces lilacinus fungi on the root-knot nematode density and the number of galls on Cucumus sativus var. Banias in comparison with the nematicide Fenamiphos at Lattakia research Center in 2002 under greenhouse conditions. This research was conducted firstly in pots followed by field experiment. Results showed that the treatment with Fenamiphos and T. harzianum in two forms (granular & WP) significantly reduced the root-knot nematode density by 71.5, 73.1 and 63.1% respectively. While treatment with Fenamiphos, P. lilacinus and T. harzianum (granular) significantly reduced the root-knot index (root galls). In pots, all treatments were effective and treatment with T. harzianum (granular) surpassed that of Fenamiphos.
