Abstract
Olive peacock's eye disease caused by Cycloconium oleaginum Cast. is
of major economic importance in some regions of Algeria. The infection rate
varies from one site to another. It is very frequent in the province of Bejaia,
Tizi-Ouzou, Sétif and Bouira and less frequent or rare in the provinces of
Mascara, Oran and Relizane. Trials carried out under conditions of Sétif region
with bordeaux mixture (1 per cent), copper oxychloride (0.3 per cent) and
dithane (0.3 per cent) against C. oleaginum of olives. It was
demonstrated that bordeaux mixture (1 per cent) gave the best control and better
yield. In wet years, one spray in October 20th followed by one in
December 29th gave the most efficient result while in dry years, only
the first application was necessary.
