Abstract

  1. Why the Syrian marine water is poor of fish production?
  2. What the role of Fish diversity on specific and quantitative composition of the catch?
  3. What the researches work realized at present in Syrian sea water about the fisheries and fish biodiversity?
  4. What the better methods which ca be guaranteed the development of fish stock in Syrian sea water ?
Interaction between fisheries and the environment - Interaction between fisheries and the environment is quite complex and originates under many divers aspects.
- Although not very well studied, it is recognized that water pollution and eutrophication have an effect in the success of recruitment and in some cases this effect is seen in adult stages of commercial fish.
- Fisheries can on the other hand have a measurable impact on the sea bed and on the food webs.
- In seems therefore inevitable that any comprehensive fisheries research should have an environmental component.
- This section intends to describe the atmosphere surrounding fisheries science from the perspective of international agreements on that are in course at present.
- Side effect on non commercial species, either directly (by-catch) or indirectly (through alteration on the food web) are known as cause of concern.
- In this presentation we tried to show the complexity of the Syrian Coast ( as part of the eastern Mediterranean) Ichthyofauna its diversity and its current development.
- The Fauna of Syrian sea waters is diversified with respect to its origin: Atlantic , endemic and indo- pacific. On the other hand , it is increasing in number mostly owing to the fact that many species are recently introduced from the Red Sea.
- The Fauna of Syrian sea waters is diversified with respect to its origin: Atlantic , endemic and indo- pacific. On the other hand , it is increasing in number mostly owing to the fact that many species are recently introduced from the Red Sea.
- The exotic species play an important role in the specific and quantitative composition of the fish catch in Syrain sea waters.
- The immigrants have radically changed the marine ecosystems in the Eastern Mediterranean and in particular the inventory and the yield of the fisheries.
- Ecologists will be encouraged to propose specific models, concernenig for example the potential migrators, the migrant- indigenious relationship, the environmental constraints of the migrators, the absence of inverse migration, etc.
