Syrian Coast protection from industrial zone pollutants

By the end of 1992, the new industrial zone in Lattakia city will have contained 2119 industrial establishments introduced in the present research with questionnaire survey and a study of production processes of some industries with their accompanying pollutants (BOD-SS-PH-oil and grease-heavy metals) through a sampling program, getting use of the known values of the various industrial pollutants taken from European and American literature, and accrediting some hypo-theses for the determination of the total industrial waste pollution load in proportion to Lattakia city inhabitants Comparing the results reached from the local sampling with those concluded internationally, the research determines the present local pollution loads, considering these value for the future, and suggests guidelines for industrial waste discharges to sewerage network or directly into the river.
