SUMMARY

Dr.Dr. Adel Awad
Department of Civil Engineering, Tishreen University, Lattakia, Syria.

Some of outstanding characteristics of pyrolyse, in comparison with the conventional method for the disposal of such waste materials can be summaraized as follows: a) protection the environment , especially the less polluted atmosphere. since all the methods which deal with treatment of air pollution are known to emit gases that pollute the atmosphere. b) possibility of obtaining raw materials and re-use them. c)the possibility of disposing of and treating the industrial refuse since their organic wastes cause environmental problems. d) To obtain energy in the form of gas which can be stored. e) lesser quantity of sewage water resulting from gas washing to protect the air from pollution .
f) In addition to all that , the technology of these methods. the varied positive qualification of this modern method can help in the possibility of its expansion in our Arab region in the near future I would like to add that some Arab countries have been applying the conventional methods known to be related to air pollution for the disposal of waste refuse . The nature of our Arab environment necessitates the need for the requirements convenient to the pyrolyse methods mentioned above. One of these requirements is the urgent need to dispose of the accumulated waste materials. This accumulation is the result of the continual increase in population and industry, especially in the big Arab cities and their cosequences on hygienic problems on man , animal and plant life.
Another requirement is the need for technological methods for the disposal of these waste materials by means of suitable environmental methods. A third requirement is the need for alternate economical solutiors to obtain energy and raw materials. This introductory study is only a practical, effective and scientific attempt, on my part to find a more convenient method for the protection of the atmospheric environment technologically from pollution. It is also an attempt to treat the disposal of waste materials. Pyrolyse is more urgently needed in Arab regions where they have either recently begun or have been obliged to begin treating their accumulated waste materials. This waste, I am sad to say has been the cause for the deterioration of the hygienic and natural environment of these countries.
