Abstract

In order to neutralize the effect of the difference in disease level on the result to the Carbendazim uptake by injection, 2 years old in pots nursery olive sampling were wound and inoculated with Verticillium dahliae and the uptake of the fungicide injection was investigated in comparison with uninfected olive samplings under two levels of temperature. In the uninfested plants 100 ml of Carbendazim solution were taken in 2 and 13 days under average temperatures of 26.3 C and 19.9 C respectively. The uptake time of 100 ml injected solution was 2 and 7 days by the uninfected and infected plants respectively. The quantity of Carbendazim found all along plant was higher in the uninfected sampling when 100 ml of the solution was injected instead of 50 ml. High concentration of Carbendazim persisted in the stem reaching to 100 ppm after 12 months in the level 80 cm above the point of injection in the uninfected plants, Carbendazim concentration one week after treatment was 235.7 ppm, 80 cm above the point of injection in infected plants, due to the damage in the xylem vessel infected by the pathogen.
