Effectiveness of Meteorological Conditions on Droplets Distribution Homogeneity
of Drift Spraying Technique

Abstract
This study aimed to find out the effect of weather conditions on the deposition of air borne droplets produced by drift spraying technique. The trials were carried out on July 2000 by using hand-lance attached to a Kanapsack sprayer (SOLO435) and hand-held Micron-ULVA-Economy. Spray applications were carried out executed at four different times chosen to represent the day period when spraying is usually done. Results indicated that, L.V. spraying (20L/fed) with a swath width of five meters hand-lance produced number of droplets less than those produced by the V.L.V. spraying of Micron-ULVA-Economy (4L/fed) with a similar swath width. Distribution homogeneity at the first time (8.0 am) and fourth time (5.0 pm) were similar for both techniques, but the droplets distribution homogeneity produced by the ULVA was better than that by hand -lance at 12.
