Abstract

The present work was carried out to study effect of Nosema diseases on some activities of honey bee colonies as pollen grains collection by bees, brood rearing activity, quality of honeybee queens, worker activity of royal jelly secretion and longevity of worker honeybees. The average daily pollen grains collected by the infested honeybee colonies is fewer than the healthy colonies by 40.19%.The reduction in brood rearing rate in infested honey bee colonies is fewer than the healthy colonies by 27.65%. The highest weight of virgin queen were reared and incubated in healthy colonies, compared with the colonies infested by Nosema diseases. The percentages number of mated queens were reared and incubated in healthy colonies were the highest of virgin queen were reared and incubated in infested colonies Nosema by 15%. The amount of royal jelly produced from the healthy colonies surpassed than the infested colonies. The mean longevity of worker infested honeybee colonies were the lowest longevity than the workers reared in healthy honeybee colonies.
