Abstract
Testis of pink bollworm, Pectinophora gossypiella (Saund.) male moth previously treated as 1st instar larva with NeemAzal formulations showed different grades of histological alternations compared with that recorded at the untreated ones. Histological examination of the longitudinal sections revealed the following histopathological symptoms:
- Disintegration of the testicular epithelial septa.
- Degeneration and indistinguishable of the germ cells through the spermatogenesis process leaving vacuolated areas.
- Degeneration of the sperm bundles.
- Shrinkage of the testis content.
- The peritoneal membrane became fine. NeemAzal T/S showed several histopathological deformations compared with NeemAzal T and NeemAzal F and the severity was dose dependent.
